Melissa tried Yoga for the first time in 2005 and absolutely loved it! She has sustained a regular personal practice since, and studied extensively with Donna Farhi, attending numerous intensives and retreats. It was an honour to be accepted onto Donna’s 21-day Advanced Teacher Training in 2010. Melissa has enjoyed the privilege of being a teaching assistant for Donna at a number of her workshops in New Zealand and Australia. Melissa completed her 200hr Teacher Training Certification through The Contemporary Yoga Centre in Auckland, October 2017.
Melissa has been teaching Yoga to the North Canterbury community over the past 10 years.
Melissa completed a Level I Teacher Training in iRest® Yoga Nidra with Dr Richard Miller in 2014 and incorporates this practice into her Restorative Yoga classes. She has also trained in CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute and Angelic Rieki.
Melissa is passionate about Yoga and this is reflected in her teaching. Students often comment on the positive effects they experience in their body, mind and spirit. Melissa creates a welcoming atmosphere in her classes and enjoys the process of learning and growing with her students.
